Golden Tickets has always given back to our community with charities such as Ronald McDonald House, Special Olympics, Down Syndrome Guild and March of Dimes. We often speak about doing something more on a national level. Last year we decided to take action and came up with a new program called “Get the Golden Ticket”.

Our first recipient was a gentleman by the name of Ryan Ferguson who spent 10 years in a prison cell unjustly accused of a murder he did not commit.

We had been following his story for the past 5 years on CBS 48 Hours and were deeply moved by it. This turned into an inspiration, and upon his release from prison, we decided to launch this program. For someone who spent 10 years in jail, his upbeat, un-bitter attitude really hit home and said to us that we need to do something special for this guy.
As the winner of the first “Get the Golden Ticket”, we invited Ryan and his father to the biggest football game of them all….the Super Bowl!

In 1988 with nothing more than a $15,000 bank loan (collateral was a sailboat) and a small ad in the USA Today, Golden Tickets opened its doors. Within the first 6 months of being in business, we gained a small foothold in ticket brokering nationwide. Ticket brokering in the late 80’s and early 90’s was an art form. Selling, negotiating and closing the deal was what it was all about. We were proud of our customer satisfaction and our growing company.
As our reputation for dependability and integrity continued to grow, so did our client base. In our posse of customers, we counted many of the fortune 100 companies who relied on us for all of their ticket needs.
In 1990 there was a real need to start packaging tickets with other travel amenities such as hotels, rental cars and parties which led us to opening a second company, Golden Sports Tours. In 1994 while people were watching OJ Simpson drive down the LA Highway, the FIFA World Cup was taking place in the United States and this is the event that put Golden Tickets on the map. Our customers were no longer just U.S. based but clients from around the world, who started counting on us for event tickets.
This same year as more and more new brokers entered the market, there was a real need to bring a code of ethics to the way brokers conducted business. Golden Tickets was proud to be one of the original 50 brokers to get the National Association of Ticket Brokers (NATB) off the ground. Now ticket buyers can look for the “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval” of the ticket industry to know they are in good hands whether they are dealing with Golden Tickets or one of our competitors.
Our forte has always been in the national events arena and we have always counted on the Masters as one of our biggest events, year to year. In the late 1990’s, there were a few companies providing corporate hospitality but nothing we felt was worthy of this event, therefore we decided to jump into the hospitality business by opening The 1018 Club.
The 1018 Club is “your” country club while going to the tournament in Augusta. We offer cuisine by celebrity chef Kent Rathbun, a premium stocked bar, Rocky Patel cigars, live music, massage therapist all while enjoying this on 7000sq feet of multi-leveled decks. We know what real hospitality should be!
With few high-end hotels in Augusta a majority of golf fans turn to renting homes in Augusta. There was no easy way of putting fans with home renters so we decided to start a new company, Diamond Home Rentals. We built a website where home renters could easily list their homes for companies and golf fans to rent. We list 100’s of homes at every price point.
As technology has changed over the past decade so has the way the ticket business is conducted…..it has moved mostly online. Golden Tickets is committed to staying updated on all fronts of this new world.
